Light Rider's Quantum Light products generate quantum keys without internet connectivity and outside the primary data path, helping secure communications across today's IP networks.
Built for enterprise, defense, and critical infrastructure environments, Light Rider D-QKD adds a physical quantum security layer that works with your existing cybersecurity stack.
Light Rider D-QKD is a digital key generation and delivery architecture that secures communications to and from Quantum Light devices. Unlike traditional optical QKD systems, Light Rider's approach does not depend on dedicated quantum fiber links or specialized optical hardware.
Instead, Quantum Light products act as quantum access points — generating keys that support secure communications over existing IP infrastructure. Depending on configuration, the lights can support continuous key refresh ranging from thousands to millions of 256-bit keys per second.
These out-of-band keys synchronize with PQC, QKD, and D-QKD, allowing organizations to begin deploying quantum-safe security without replacing the networks they already use.
Encryption is only as strong as the keys protecting it. Traditional networks often create or exchange keys inside the same digital environment that carries the encrypted data. If that environment is compromised, recorded, or later weakened by a quantum computer, sensitive information is at risk.
Light Rider D-QKD separates the keys from the data path. Quantum Light products generate key material outside the primary communication channel, allowing organizations to strengthen existing IP networks with a separate quantum trust layer.
Attackers can capture encrypted traffic today and store it until future quantum computers make decryption possible. D-QKD introduces quantum key material, frequent key rotation, and out-of-band generation to help make host systems immune to these future attacks.
Traditional optical QKD systems require significant infrastructure investment.
Light Rider D-QKD is designed to work with what you already have.
Quantum Light generates key material
The Quantum Light TX (GEN2) generates quantum entropy and cryptographic keys outside the primary LAN. Binary key material is encoded into rapid pulses of visible light using On-Off Keying faster than the human eye can perceive.
Visible light carries the keys
Light pulses travel to an optical receiver (RX) over a dedicated out-of-band channel that is physically separate from the data network and invisible to any attacker monitoring IP traffic.
The D-QKD layer validates and routes
The RX passes keys into Light Rider's D-QKD layer, where they are validated, assigned, rotated, and delivered to approved endpoints. The layer controls who gets keys, how often they rotate, and how they enter your security stack.
Existing applications use the keys
Approved apps, devices, and services use the delivered key material to strengthen sessions, authenticate endpoints, and secure communications all while protected traffic continues on your existing IP network.
Light Rider's D-QKD ecosystem is strengthened through partnerships with two of the leading names in quantum-safe security. Together, organizations can protect against Harvest Now, Decrypt Later threats without relying on dedicated optical infrastructure.
